Swabian Alps

Strolling through the Swabian Alb you will find a pristine landscape in large parts, criss-crossed by a network of about 13000 km of known paths that invite you to explore. A variety of attractions is offered by the uplands with beech woods, rocky fields, limestone mountains and karstic springs. Of about 500 caves in total, a dozen of them have been expanded to show-caves, such as the bear and mist cave near Sonnenbühl.
On the Swabian Alb you will find over 20 palaces and castles, including Emperor equality of Hohenstaufen and the House of Hohenzollern. Some of them open their doors for visitors and are therefore a worthwile destination, such as the Hohenzollern Castle, the Lichtenstein Castle or Sigmaringen, which is near at hand.
